Allan R. Pearlman has been working with lawyers and ordinary people and businesses, in the state and federal courts of New York and other fora since 2001.
Allan R. Pearlman, who became a lawyer in 1992, started practice with a judicial clerkship at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
After completing this appellate clerkship, he moved across the street, to work as a Court Attorney, and then Senior Court Attorney at the New York State Supreme Court, New York County, in downtown Manhattan. There he researched and wrote proposed decisions for many of the Justices presiding over trials in this, the trial court of general jurisdiction.
Now in private practice, in addition to representing individuals and businesses in a variety of matters, Mr. Pearlman regularly collaborates with other attorneys and law firms.
He has represented other lawyers personally, and part of his practice includes serving as local counsel to lawyers outside New York, including on applications to domesticate out-of-state commissions to take discovery of a nonparty witnesses located in New York.
He is Co-Chair of the Cyberspace Law Committee of New York County Lawyers' Association.
He is a graduate of University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he received a BA in American Culture. While attending University of Michigan he was awarded the coveted Hopwood Writing Award on two occasions.
He earned his JD from Rutgers-Camden, where he served on Law Review at Rutgers Law Journal, and then was Lead Articles Editor of the Journal.
Mr. Pearlman is AV-Rated by the Martindale Hubbell peer review system. "AV" rating is the highest rating given to attorneys by their peers for legal ability and ethical standards.
